The White Crane Mountains

Straw roofed houses in the rice fields

Snowflakes shimmered in the moon light, feathering upon the White Crane Mountains, yet they never touched the ground. The legendary white crane intercepted them to keep its feathers heavenly white—a curse the White Crane villagers whispered to one another for generations. Then it came the Plum Rain in May—as if the spell was broken, heavens broke with it too.
